Etnita und Abe haben eigentlich ein ziemlich großes Problem. Er ist Yankee-Fan, Etnitas Herz schlägt für die Red Sox. Das ist ungefähr so, wie wenn sich ein Schalker in einen Dortmunder verliebt – das Sportsherz muss ein bisschen leiden. Dass es der Liebe dieser beiden allerdings keinen Abbruch getan hat, das können wir an den modernen Verlobungsfotos bestaunen.
Etnita kam eigentlich genervt von einem unglücklichen Date nach Hause, um eine neue Nachricht in ihrem Postfach ihrer Online-Dating-Plattform zu finden (hach, die moderne Liebe). Abe’s Profil sah nett aus, und sie entschied sich für eine neue Chance. Zum Glück! Die beiden sind seit diesem Zeitpunkt unzertrennlich. Bei einem Trip nach St. Augustine stellt Abe ihr die Frage der Fragen, und Etnita erzählt die Geschichte ihrer Verlobung so schön:
One day, Abe asked me if I would like to go away to St. Augustine for the weekend. We climbed the Fort’s wall to sit and enjoy the view of the ocean. We sat there for a while, just talking about all the great places we had visited that day. This was our first getaway together and we were having such an amazing time. We then both laid on our backs so we could star gaze.
It was such a clear night – the sky looked marvelous. I took a deep breath in admiration and said “what a beautiful night”. Abe then said “it is beautiful, but what would make it perfect is if you say yes”. I replied “say yes to what?” as he slipped the ring onto my finger. He answered, “to marrying me.” I just laid there and said “of course I will” without moving – not because I was in shock, but because it still had not registered in my head what had just happened. Abe then sat up and looked down on me with an expression on his face like “well?”. At that moment I looked down at my hand and saw the ring. I was so happy! I could not believe it. I sat up and hugged and kissed him – my fiancé. It has been almost 2 years since that night. We’ve bought a house together and are planning our October wedding. We could not live without each other. We are happy to begin the next chapter in our lives together and cannot wait to see what journey tomorrow may bring.
